Sandy & Kim's Wedding Day

April 21-2007 at Rathtrevor Provincial Park, Parksville, BC.
We had prayed for a nice day and as you will see there are shadows and sunglasses for awhile.
What you cannot see is the wind and there was lots of wind so it was quite cold as you will see from the coats!

A remarkable amount of planning and work goes into putting together a wonderful wedding day like we had!!

We would like to acknowledge all those special people who were there with us that day, not only as our guests, but as our family and friends and as our support network.

Of course, all our children were there, along with the people who keep them happy. It was very special to me to have Sandy’s daughters Tina and Kathy, be the ones who helped me get dressed! Tina arrived early and was a great help to us with decorating and getting set up. Most of you know the story of how Kathy is the one responsible for Sandy and I having met in the first place…how can we begin to thank her for that? My daughter, Shannon was my maid of honour, and of course the one walking me to the altar was my son Jason.

Our dear friend Kenny was the best man, and as always, brought his wonderful sense of humour and natural talent for entertaining, and did a fabulous job being our chief chef! He also provided us with wood for our campfire.

My talented girlfriend Carm ,  volunteered to be my florist, and did a fabulous job envisioning what I told her would be a perfect bouquet, and even brought along a throw away bouquet…which was a detail I neglected to plan for !

My long time girlfriend Colleen always told me that if I was happy enough to get married, she’d be happy to make me a beautiful cake, and she did just that…using my mother’s recipe, and decorating it just as Sandy and I asked.

Our great friends Phil and Colleen helped us do some pre- wedding photos and were responsible for the picture on the wedding scrolls we passed out, as well as being there to listen to us go on and on and on about all the plans we were making…isn’t it nice to have friends you can be yourself with on a Sunday afternoon over tea?

Ron and Johanna were our other "Sunday afternoon spend time relaxing friends" .… and both Johanna and I needed to relax after all the shopping I dragged her along for! I truly relied on her honesty and patience to help me make most of my decisions. And, I even talked Joh into making the great Greek salad we ate.

We were happy to have our friends Willi and Debbie make it there. Willi gave up his weekend to be there instead of going to the drags. We appreciated the delicious potato salad that Debbie graciously volunteered to make for us.

Louise came to share our day with us and as she always does when we get to see her, treated us as family. We always appreciate her truly good hearted nature.

We can’t begin to thank everybody who came for being our photographers for the event! It’s been truly wonderful to see all the pictures and film clips that were taken, and Sandy has spent many hours sorting through them and put them into order.

Thanks to everybody being there, our day has become a very memorable occasion, and we will always cherish it. We love and appreciate you all!

We hit the beach within an hour of arriving. Beach looking south.

Beach looking north, fantasic sand and very warm water.

After our first dinner, which was excellente!!!

Beautiful sunset every night. We didn't miss any.

It was sunny and hot there the whole time.
We absolutely loved it.
