The article below was created with my dear Grandmother in mind. She was 89 and almost
died when this was written (in 2003). These thoughts are about how to find some light
on one of those dark nights, when hope seems to be hiding somewhere. Finding a little
motivation to transform emotional pain into creative expression, can be very healing
and calming.

The Darkside of Feminine Power  (by Sahara Exodus)

With all things, there is a balance between the yin and yang, the positive
and the negative and the darkness and the light. As much fun it is to
celebrate with the joys of dance, the expression of happiness, and visions
of success, we all have a darkside. Expressing it through our 'feminine
power' is a wonderful way to experience balance. This awareness is just like
having invisible tools to help us lead more fulfilling lives.

If we've gone through a loss such as a break-up with a lover, or a death in
the family, we can use our creativity to heal the pain. Writing songs,
poetry and journaling, can be wonderful way to verbalize our pain. But
sometimes there are no words, and dance can be healing to convey the
physical expressions of our anguish. Chanting and singing intuitive sounds,
or pre-established songs, can be therapeutic to vocalize the music of
torment. When we portray our darkness, it can bring some of our best
creative results. Later when things diminish, we can become more sensitive
and discover intuitive gifts from our painful experiences.

If we've had traumatic ordeals from our past such as rape and physical
abuse, often we become gifted with a sensitivity that is compassionate,
healing, creative and psychic. We may gain amazing insights into people and
life. Through such horrific moments when there seems to be no light, one day
a positive attitude emerges, and we may become a bearer of love. Through
this transformation... psychic visions, the expression of emotions, and
imaginativeness blur into one, and we find ourselves prolific creators of
beauty, inspiration and peace.

"Life presents extremes for us in order to discover our
true equilibrium. With the intensity of these moments we can feel
uncomfortable. It's through this pain, that peace is born."
