Definition of Happiness
In my own definition of happiness, I personally experience it as a passing
emotion, just like all other feelings. I've never permanently felt happy. I
used to think it's a state that I should try to attain ongoing.
Since then, I've embraced all other emotions like the various awesome
colours of the rainbow. Each feeling has a purpose and is valid and life
enriching. It's a difficult thing to grasp, but even our negative emotions
are very useful. Once one gets past the fear of them, they are welcoming and
much wise.
For me, the concept of 'fulfillment' has more meaning to me. I have
fulfilled many huge desires in my lifetime, and by achieving these sometimes
impossible goals, I do feel 'happy' (or fulfilled).
I do not pretend to have fulfilled all of my dreams, and I continue to
realize them, as I live. I believe that it's important to wake-up in the
morning with a goal in mind, or else with the loss of all desire, one can
feel dead, bitter, and hopeless. I think that's important for one's entire
lifetime, to continue to want to grow and develop oneself. And even though
some things we want may seem inconceivable, that with hope, with
perseverance, with desire, with the vision/dream of fulfillment... we will
break past those blocks and experience happiness.
If you are seeking help on your journey, I would be pleased to support you.
