with built B234 2.3L head with custom Schrick 2mm larger intake and exhaust

housing, coolant pipes, turbo oil lines, camshaft sprockets, block - all
else was new or from original build of engine in summer 2001

9k FMIC installed, but realization that elbows
would
be too close to the ground; quick redesign culminated in custom made endtanks
- benefit was that no cutting of the lower bumper grille was required

FMIC installed, plumbing conceptualized with
aluminum pipes and Samco Sport
hoses

hasty repositioning of crank sensor and magnets
due to original location not working properly

realization that Flex-A-Lite
fan would not clear stock front engine mount; Damien Shulock solid piece
installed in place

two week vacation to England and Belgium =
no work on the car

engine fired for the first time, niggling
electrical issues continued; significantly less time to spend on car due
to recommencement of classes

first drive around the block, initial tuning
with fuel and ignition maps supplied by Roger Bell

alternator charging issue traced to different
tach circuitry

starting issue encountered; traced to lack
of grounding strap from transmission to chassis - DOH!!

engine break in period commenced, car being
used daily now

initial contact with Nolan
Nykyforuk, local EFI tuning guru; agreement to aid in tuning with his
wideband O2 sensor and skill

not much happened, exams and 10-day vacation
to Hong Kong and Shanghai = no work on car

continuing issues with power steering, small
coolant leak
