Membership

The Victoria Family Court and Youth Justice Committee is composed of municipal councilors or public appointees, one from each of the 13 municipalities in the Greater Victoria area.  Each School District may appoint a member (currently SD 61, 62 and 63).

Representatives from the Ministries of the Attorney General, Public Safety and Solicitor General, Education, Children and Family Development, and Health are encouraged to attend meetings and assist at the sub-committee level.

Municipal police departments are represented by Youth Liaison and Outreach Officers.

Special-interest groups such as the Peninsula Cross Roads Community Justice Program, the Native Friendship Centre, the Boys’ and Girls’ Club, the Foster Parent Association, and the Single Parent Resource Centre contribute valuable resource members.

The municipal and school district representation, along with seven Members at Large, approved by the Capital Regional District, comprise the Voting Members.
