54 Seconds have been in the studio recording songs for an upcoming CD. Yes, our website hasn’t been updated in a while, but we’ve been very busy nonetheless.  Our Lucky Lounge shows have been going well and our live CDs are continuing to draw new fans.   We should have 3 more shows posted to DiscLogic this week

July 16th/2004

It is with great regret that we have to announce the departure of Glenn McGregor from 54 Seconds.  After 6 years of making music together, Glenn has decided to pursue other goals.  He is one of the most talented musicians we have ever known and we will miss him.
On a brighter note though we will be joined on bass in September by Rachel Loy.   An incredible bass player (naturally), Rachel is also a very talented singer and songwriter in her own right.  She will be moving back to Austin in late August at which point we will start playing shows together and spending some time in the
studio. We are all looking forward to the new musical possibilities and directions that will come from this.

We did it.  We actually played a live show after a miserably long hiatus. We
played the entire CD in its running order with very few pauses and then
finished off with "Strange Day" Sorry y'all couldn't be there. Brian
Mendes performed con gusto on the drums. We recorded the show and might
have it for sale before too long, but only AFTER the official release of
"Coma" which should be going off for manufacture THIS week.
In the meantime, please tell everyone we now sell our CDs through Cdbaby.com
Be sure to check out the new "Promography" which combines "Promo" and "Promo2"

"Sorry it's been a while, but now we re back. Our new CD is finally finished, we're chatting with with some enthusiastic suits and damn it, we re ready to start playing again.

This Sunday, April 13th, we'll be debuting songs from the new CD, titled Coma at the Mercury on Sixth St. We'll start at 900 and then stick around for one of our favorite bands, The Earl Harvin Trio, who are playing right afterwards.

While the CD itself won't be ready for sale by the show, we will be GIVING AWAY copies of the promotional disk at the door to the FIRST 25 (paying) fans.

Please come to the show and hear what we've been up to. We think you'll like it!

March 2003

From an Austin News Group LowLight

Promo and Promo 2 are being remastered and  put
on one disc.  Unreleased songs from the promo
sessions will be added as bonus tracks.
"waiting around" is one of them.
Heard the song.  It's beautiful.

Jen White, the film maker for "lowlight", is in LA doing a
colour correction for the "better?" video.  She was the director of photography on "better?"
The upcoming album, "coma" will contain a version of "lowlight".

Kim Richey
is an artist with whom Stewart has toured.

Shannon Cochran, Stewart's sister, plays the part of Anna Morgan
in the thriller, "
The Ring".  Have you seen it yet?

Life in ten songs or less by Parade: Recorded entirely on location at Lowlight Sound, Austin Tx..  The album was produced by Spencer Gibb and Luis Guerrero (AKA FreshEars Productions). Spencer, Stewart Cochran, Ephraim Owens, Luis and Brannen Temple all played on this album.
It's nothing short of amazing!!  The photography and graphic design was done by Spencer and
Marie-Andree Koenig.  It has that other-worldy feel we all love from 00:54.

"Thank you so much for your kind words!! It means a lot... As a relatively
unheard of band, we are too frequently met with indifference. I'm sure
that's not a unique position to be in, but encouragement from people like
yourself definitely helps to keep us believing in what we're doing.
Yes, I am fond of the musicians that played with us too ;-) They're
amazingly talented and creative, but more importantly, very wonderful
people. thanks again! Ty"

There will also be a short film version of the video entitled "Worse"

"I can't wait to start editing the short and video. We
get the footage back this week - yay!"
-
From Tracie Laymon - March 25/03.

Ricky Bertani is is working on the enhanced material for the upcoming "Coma". He is who does the official web site for 54 Seconds.

And the news that I simply cannot forget is that I, Heather Howe, had some of the best days of my life while visiting Austin, TX  from the 12th of March to the 19th.
