Here are some of the results from some further analysis.
The main goal is to provide figures that are directly associated with usenet newsgroups, such as those in Section J (Usenet). Questions J1, J2, and J3 were intended to help isolate users of Usenet from the rest of the responders. The data I took in rec.arts.anime.* two weeks prior to the announcement on web forums was used for comparison to minimize errors in filtering. Further I found the difference between this result and restricted to ONLY rec.arts.anime.* to differ only by 3 returns, and that these 3 returns were definitely for responder who do not read rec.arts.anime.*. So I stayed with the more general (less restricted) set of results: the additional usenet counts shouldn't perturb any trend analyses significantly.
At the end, I got double the number of returns compared to the past two surveys, with 82, even though the survey got the same (actually a tad lower) total number of returns as last year.
These results can also be found at:
http://members.shaw.ca/ru.igarashi/Surveys/fans/fan0709/results_raa.html
Other questionnaire results, highlights, and analyses can be found at:
http://members.shaw.ca/ru.igarashi/Surveys/fans/results.html
For each question, I've tabulated the raw count and the percentage of total returns for each of the possible responses. I've added a "blank" entry to round out the totals. Some questions had multiple responses, so don't expect all tallies to come to 100%.
Enjoy.
