Purpose:
This program will rename the files listed in a m3u playlist file to
a_song1, b_song2..etc so that a program to transfer songs onto a
hardware mp3 player will load the tracks in the correct order. Of
course if you have playlist support in your transfer software this
is useless, my Moveman SSP-100 does not. It's a hassle to have to
move songs up and down in the playing order if you want to listen
to a full album. When the program is run a second time on a
playlist file it converts the filenames back to their
originals.
It was made first in java, then I realized it would be difficult to allow user to execute it from windows, and they would need the jre or jdk, so rewrote in borland c++ 5 vcl, since "Memory Manager" only runs under windows and a perl script would be too easy.
Download:
Binary and Source code: playlist.zip
(230 kB) Run playlist.exe in the zip, then select the m3u file
