ROSEFIELD KENNELS (PERM.) REG'D

Welcome to ROSEFIELD KENNELS (PERM.) REG'D. As with most breeders, we started with our first lab, CH. FIELDKING'S BLACK DUCHESS CD WC JH, better known as "Jessie", as a pet puppy in 1989. Soon after with the encouragement of friends from the local kennel club, (West Kootenay Kennel Club), Linda entered Jessie in their first show. Although they didn't do well, complements from judges and the excitement of showing hooked Linda for good.

Since that time we have evolved into a hobby breeding kennel and our goal as breeders is to produce a typical lab - smart, friendly, and healthy with the natural hunting abilities they are known for as well as a dog which will fit the written standard of the Canadian Kennel Club. We believe a lab should be an all purpose dog, capable of doing retrieving work in the field, as well as conformation showing and obedience work in the show rings.

All of our dogs have had their hips and elbows either OFA or OVC certified. Their eyes are CERF'd annually and we offer guarantees on our pups accordingly. All of the puppies we sell are sold on a nonbreeding contract registered with the Canadian Kennel Club. This is to protect our kennel name as well as the breed. This contract may be revoked at a later date provided our requirements as stated on our sales contract have been met to our satisfaction.

We operate our kennel on a Code of Ethics as follows:

• To maintain the original purpose of the Labrador Retriever as a retriever, breeding only from sound dogs of good temperament who exemplify the breed standard and are able to represent the breed for conformation in the ring, in the field as a willing worker, and / or as a hunting companion.
• To breed only to stock that must be x-rayed clear of hip/elbow dysplasia and certified by OVC / OFA and opthamologically examined and certified clear of hereditary eye diseases by an authorized veterinary opthamologist.
• To register all Labrador Retrievers with the Canadian Kennel Club and abide by their rules and regulations.
• To keep accurate records of breedings, pedigrees, sales, and transfers and pass on only accurate records and pedigrees to purchasers of stock or services, and do not in any circumstances knowingly be part of, or contribute to, false registration.
• Not to sell, consign, transfer puppies or adult dogs to pet shops, wholesale dealers, contest sponsors, or anyone know to degrade the Labrador Retriever or pure-bred dogs, or to individuals breeding and / or selling to the aforementioned.
• To replace or refund any pup or dog sold by us for up to two years of age as specified in our sales contract.
