1969 Mustang Coupe Grande

A Disaster

This is an old project gone bad.  I acquired the rusty wreck for an old street bike I had, an 81 Yamaha something or other, the guy wanted two thousand bucks but was clearly on something, I don't have a picture of the before look, just some of the "during" process.  The car was a 1969 Mustang Coupe with the Grande option, this was basically just a luxury trim from what I understand, basically it made the car that much harder to acquire parts for!  Deluxe door panels were 10 times the price of standard, the upholstery wasn't even being made anymore, the vinyl top was more hassle than it was worth and besides, most folks have never even heard of a Grande, I know I didn't until I caught up with this heap!

The car was a complete basket case and needed everything, I knew this going in but as the bills added up I knew that this clunker was never going to be able to justify the money it needed and it needed tons!  Clapped out interior, clapped out body, clapped out suspension, clapped out steering but what the hell, the price was right!  below you'll find pictures of the car and some of the upgrades I did to it but to be honest this car was probably only about 25% done, it still needed a lot of work by the time I abandoned it and while I did take some serious losses dollar wise when I sold it most of the good parts went to my next project which was a 70 Mach I.
