------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the beginning of this year (2012) I
couldn't shake the urge to return to my needlework. I am planning to continue to
work from patterns I have collected in the past but I would also like to be able
to offer some of my own ideas.
My first efforts will
be small Free projects and I'll see how those are received. I also plan to put
together Tutorials from time to time and if there is enough feedback, I will
look ahead to doing more of that. You can find more links at the bottom of the
page.
In the meantime,
please feel free to stop in and visit my gallery of needlework projects
from the past. I have one project I finished to start the year off and am
posting her here because she is so unusual. She is a design by Catherine
Coleman, called "Follow Me". I used to test patterns for Catherine so I
was fortunate to be able to make many of her first designs.
Thank you for
stopping by to visit.

The head, hands body
and feet are wooden, sprayed metallic gold. the body is layers of needlework
done on 18 ct. mono canvas. The sleeves and legs I did a little differently. I
used Lugana to stitch the panels in the sleeves and finished them and the legs
with Dupioni silk.
There is also Dupioni
silk, that goes around the side edges of the body. The wings are made with a
sparkly wired ribbon and finally she's trimmed with gold cording on the front
and back of the body as well on the feet.
