I did a field fix on my G14 last year and I still have lots-o-brakes. I took a chunk of a 1" leather belt and some decent quality contact cement. I did three wraps with the belt around the plate that the puck is supposed to attach to. Brakes work just fine, without spending the $45 Canadian for the piece of brake material!
