I saw Robin play last night (June 20th) at the  "House of Blues" in Myrtle Beach and he was amazing as always. Being a Brit  living in the U.S. I wasn't sure if I would get to see him again. I've been a fan for  more than 30 years and I believe he is as good now as he has ever been.

Just saw Robin and crew at the Handlebar Hall in Greenville, SC. What a trip!!  I'd always seen him and the original band in large concert halls and this was a real treat in a small hall like this. They were tight and Robin played great especially on "Daydream".
I'll never forget it.

I just wanted to tell you I saw robin live tonight in Annapolis  right next door were I live so it was so exciting to see robin live for the first time and was a night to remember, the place looks like it holds maybe 100 people but the crowd was really into every song he played and of course the classics were received very loudly and alot of happy people enjoyed themselves... it was nice to hear Victims Of The Fury live as well as Lady Love, there wasn't one song that I didn't like from theset list.. and he opened with Twice Removed From Yesterday !!!! Very cool..
I can see why you have gone to see him so many times as he still is great on guitar and his writing skills just keep getting better and better... I got too meet Dave Bronze after the show was over and he shook my hand as I told him he did a great job tonight and he smiled and said thanks for coming out, they will be coming back in October for two nights, I think it's the 10th and 11th.. should be great as toinght was.. just wanted to let you know about the show and tell you that your website is the best around..  thanks and take care..                    Review thanks to Mark Kunie
The crowd was large! I was in front row about 10 feet away from Robin. He came out with Twice Removed and people were going WILD!
Davey was in Great form this night, as were Robin, Dave and Pete. Seems like Davey almost tried to start a ruckus and get people to come up to the stage,. You can see the guys had a great fun time tonight.
After the main set he came out with Lady Love and when he did Daydream there were tears in my eyes. the sound coming out of the 2 heads and 2 4X12 cabs were amazing he was sounding great and the stage was sending out great vibes!
After the show Robin was absent a while. Davey, Dave and Pete came to edge of stage to autograph. then Robin came out to the Table where they were selling the T-Shirts. The house was packed, BUT by the time Robin came out, there were only about 30 people there in line to meet him. My wife did not attend the show But was able to get in when it was over. Robin was signing things and I was able to get a picture of me and Robin!!! WOW what an accomplishment for me. I have been a fan since the late 70's and now I have his Autograph, A chance to meet and shake with him and a PICTURE!!
Also bought one of the Green 2006 Tour shirts Picture Posted on your site!
On our way out of the casino, I looked over and in the middle of the casino I saw Davey and Dave B. at the bar having an after show cocktail. I was immediately welcomed as I approached the two gentlemen. They both were tired of course! And very polite and we chatted abit for about 30 minutes. I asked Dave B. about the new cd and was told with the tour extension It will be a while! OUCH!  Anyway I cannot wait to hear Robin and friends tonite on XM!   Also. My friends, Dave B and Davey P were such nice guys and I am proud, Even more now than ever to be a Robin Trower Band Fan!

I got a chance to listen to the radio broadcast of the show. It was great. This is really the first time I sat and actually listened to a show the whole way thru without trying to take notes and pictures! Truely enjoyable. Get out and see these guys perform because as good as the radio show was... it is always better live!  Steve

30  Fri     Ridgefield, CT         Ridgefield Playouse
The Ridgefield Playhouse is a newly renovated theater in one of the most pristine towns in the country, let alone Connecticut. An exclusive bedroom community to New York City professionals, it is probably the last place in the world you would expect to hear a Robin Trower performance. The theater is located on the grounds of an old high-school and caters to all forms of performing arts including film, dance and theater in addition to music. As you pull into the parking lot, you notice that you are surrounded by softball fields and swing-sets. Am I really in the right place??? After we park, we enter the auditorium and our tickets are taken, not by bouncers, but by two of the most darling elementary schoolgirls. I am sure that fruit punch and lemonade were among the choice of beverages served at the concession stand. As I take my seat, I am sitting next to a couple that brought their 11-year old daughter to the show. I tell the girl that she is very lucky to have such cool parents. I learn that the concert was made possible by a Ridgefield local who was a big fan of Robin's going back to a show in the mid 1970's which also featured Wishbone Ash.
(As an aside, I would like to point out that Wishbone Ash founder Andy Powell lives in Redding, Connecticut which is a bordering town of Ridgefield !!).
As for the show, I will say this. Having attended the show the night before at B.B. King's, I can honestly say that the Ridgefield Playhouse show blew the B.B. King's show out of the water. The band seemed much more energized and relaxed and Davey's vocals were amazing. The acoustics of the theater were outstanding and the crowd was as appreciative and enthusiastic after
each song as could be.
This was one of the coolest experiences of my life. It was like having Robin Trower play right in your backyard at your high school gymnasium. Gone are the days of seeing Robin Trower at drab venues such as Irving Plaza or Tramps in NYC where you are standing in the back on your toes hoping to just get a glimpse of Robin's guitar. Now seeing Robin Trower is an upscale evening
of musical theater where dinner is served beforehand. Never in my wildest dreams. Well, as we all know, Robin's music is indeed art. It is timeless and inspiring and it is amazing to see how diverse of an audience it is now attracting. Thank you Ridgefield Playhouse for making this magical evening happen. Thanks to Robin and the band and may the best be yet to come.

1   Sat        Buffalo                 Moleson Festival
We saw robin trower on sat. nite in buffalo and it was awesome beyond all reason
...trower was on fire and playing his proverbial ass off like his life depended on it.
he was definitely inpired by the large enthusiatic crowd and it was the best/heaviest trower gig i've seen to date...i'd go as far as to say that it was one of the best heavy guitar gigs i've ever seen...i loved the set list...loved the obscure "twice removed..." + "victims..." jams...and the "daydream"   encore was beyond perfect...i'll never forget this awesome trower gig...it was truly amazing and trower get's better with age.
..twice removed from yesterday.

It seems like just yesterday that the "funky" cover of the Bridge of Sighs album caught my eye at my local record store. 30+ years later I was face to face with Robin Trower for the first time, loving every second of watching and listening to a true Master of the Stratocaster!
Robin played his set list to a T, and I must admit that the songs that he did from Bridge of Sighs were my favorites of the night. Day of the Eagle was an awesome set up for Bridge of Sighs, which just blew me away. It was his longest song of the night, and I almost became hypnotized while I watched him work the neck his Strat. Too Rolling Stoned was a close second, and his other songs from Bridge of Sighs were
very well done. I wish that he would have stretched Go My Way a few minutes longer, for it is my favorite of his newer songs. I also would have liked to have heard a couple of more of his blues songs - maybe the next time around!  Robin closed the set with Daydream, and needless to say it was the perfect song to end the night - WOW!!!!
After the show I found out that Robin was in the parking lot, sitting in a Suburban signing autographs. I consider it a perfect evening after I got to shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed the show, plus get his autograph and get my picture taken with him! Many, many thanks Robin, and I look forward to seeing you play again!!!!!!!

6  Thu       Milwaukee             Summerfest
thanks to Glenn Holmer for the review

Just got home from Robin's show at SummerFest, Milwaukee's big outdoor
festival that goes on for a couple of weeks.
http://summerfest.com/music/artist.php?id=370
The set list was the same as the one Steve posted for Philadelphia, and Robin was in fine form, often grinning broadly.  He looked great and had his hair very short.  His energy level never faltered.  The crowd was made up of typical screaming Robin Trower fanatics (he has always had a strong following here in Milwaukee, where he's played many times).  The entire area in front of the stage was packed, with people standing on picnic tables at the back.  When he began the trill that starts Bridge of Sighs, the screaming was so loud that it actually drowned out the first few chords.  Yow.
Bridge was delicious, it just... dripped.  But the icing on the cake was the encore of Daydream, which was played very slowly and ended with a solo we thought would go on forever.  All those lazy, twisted, sideways notes were there, and he totally outdid himself.  The audience was very content when it was all over.
He didn't seem as loud as other times I've seen him; I put earplugs in right at the start, but took them out within the first minute, and my ears aren't ringing any more than they have been continuously since I saw him at Luther's in Madison five years ago :)  I started right at the front (about 20 feet from him), but explored the sound from different locations after Bridge.  It's great to stand at his feet, but of course that's not where it sounds best. Now to decide where I should stand at House of Blues in Chicago next
week...

A note from Dave Bronze...

While we were in Chicago I was lucky enough to be invited to visit the factory where my
Lakland bass was  made. The Lakland company is in Chicago and the boss and 3 of his
colleagues attended the HOB show. They are very cool guys and they make fabulous
instruments, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
If anybody is interested in checking out their stuff the website  is at     Lakland
I am fortunate enough to be one of their featured artists, as can be  seen on the site.
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank
Dan Lakin and the Lakland crew  for their support.
 Cheers  Dave B.

15  Sat        Windsor , Ontario, Canada          Blues Festival
Thanks to Ron Love for the review
Hi Steve,
I was at the Blues Festival in Windsor last night. It had been well into the nineties for a hot and humid afternoon but it couldn't have been better weather for an outdoor evening of music. There were three acts before Robin, beginning at 7pm. The first (David Knopfler) and the third (Detroit Women) were (IMO) tolerable but easily forgetable. The second act (Groove Hogs from Green Bay, WI) were very, very good. They had lead & rythym guiars, bass, drums, organ & a 4-piece brass section. They did an hour + set of a wide range of music including some great blues, funky R&B, Joe Cocker and Chicago) and interacted with the crowd.
RTBwas due to take the stage at 11:30pm but was delayed about 15 minutes as the Detroit Women (4-piece session band - guitar, bass, drums & keyboard) went long with a 2 song encore, as they were filming a DVD. The front guard rails were probably 15 - 20 feet from the stage. From the center of the stage, a guard rail ran straight out down the center for about 40 yards, filled with 8 foot tables with 10 chairs per table. The right half was for general admission while the left
half was reserved for VIPs. All of the standing room was off to the right side of the stage and on back. When I looked around just before RTB took the stage, it was a veritable 'sea' of bodies, wall-to-wall. Had to have been easily a couple of thousand people; probably more. As the show's host came out for some announcements and a raffle drawing, I could see Steve come out to set up
the mikes and Laurie was out there directing the setup like an orchestra conductor. It was an amazingly quick transition. Real professionals.
And the crowd was ready for Robin Trower, too, young and old alike. Also detected that famous pungent odor so common at Trower shows (who knew?). Crowd responded well to the opening songs but got really crazy with Day Of The Eagle & Bridge Of Sighs. Pete must've broken a snare after "What's Your Name" as they had to rush a replacement out before they continued. It's a great set list and this band knows how to execute with precision! I would certainly hope that they've been recording some of these performances for a "live" CD later on. Later, Ron

And a review from Brian and Annmarie Quinn
What a thrill to have Trower back in Canada! Seems like things always heated up when RT came to town. Whenever I saw him in Toronto back in the 80s, it was always a hot summer day. This year’s London Bluesfest was no exception… it was the hottest day of what has been a cool summer. Folks from around the region packed the hotels for the event.  The Bluesfest managers prepared a great venue, and by evening it was just perfect for my wife and me to sit outdoors and prepare to soak up the lush vibes and hard-driving rhythms of the RTB.
And what an amazing (as always) performance by Robin, Davey, Dave, and Pete! Very tight, professional, and the balance and acoustics were great – terrific sound! Great play list - from “Twice Removed” to “Daydream” it was a little of everything we know and love about RT – by turns raunchy and soulful. We could’ve listened all night. (A personal side note: I was very, VERY young when I first heard Trower’s music. Hearing “Bridge” reminded me of the time when I traveled in Europe and toured Venice. Someone pointed out the real Bridge of Sighs. My response? “You mean it’s a real place?” So thanks, RT, for broadening my world view!) This was my wife’s first live Trower show, and she loved it – and I was still just as blown away as she was. “We were spellbound….”
And that would have been more than enough. Except that we weren’t quite done. A friend had made last minute arrangements for us to meet the band after the show, and so we found ourselves chatting with Laurie (what a great guy!) as Robin and the band got ready to head back to Windsor on the way to St. Louis. So after thirty years as a fan, I found myself face-to-face with Trower. Wish I could say I had some pithy, meaningful remark all lined up. But having pushed my manual wheelchair all day, I was so tired and tongue-tied that I just stammered out my thanks and how I’d been a fan since “Long Misty Days.” RT, of course, was totally relaxed and gracious, as were the rest of the band; he shook my hand firmly - twice! (And has he got some grip! Many people would just see my chair and give me the limp fish routine.)  He and the guys signed our copy of Another Days Blues and RT also signed my pass. It was all over so quickly….
Annemarie and I walked back to our hotel, looking like a pair of grinning, gushing fans –
and not giving a damn about it!

18 Tue         St. Louis          The Pageant
Thanks to Richard Klefisch for the review
The Pageant in University City played host Tuesday night to a true guitar legend.  When Robin,  Davey,  Pete and Dave opened up with Twice Removed I had goosebumps running up and down my arms  --  it sounded so sweet !   Throughout the entire playlist I was just mesmerized on Robin's hands following every note on his midnight wine Strat.   The set flowed smoothly mixing classics with newer material each song executed with flawless precision.   I've heard Daydream performed many times but tonight was quite simply a stellar performance.   The crowd,  larger than the Pageant expected,  was
enthusiastic throughout.  The RTB fans showed their appreciation with loud ovations especially on Day of the Eagle,  Bridge of Sighs,  Too Rolling Stoned,  Little Bit of Sympathy and of course Daydream.
After the show I was told Robin was in a vehicle signing autographs.   As we made our way to the back of the venue it wasn't hard to miss the line queuing up.   Robin was graciously signing everything from ticket stubs to guitars.   I was thrilled to have two CD covers signed and speak briefly with Robin.   I believe,  like many others,  the Robin Trower Band is playing at a very high level right now  --  it's a show not to be missed.

 Thanks to Roland Kurz :
Well, the evening had finally arrived.
A group of friends, co-workers, and myself were heading about 45 minutes north to see Robin Trower at the Fillmore, minus my wife who was out of town. All of us enjoyed a delicious tri tip barbeque at my home, and headed out at the last possible moments prior to the show.
We arrived after 9:00, and found close parking, a rarity in San Francisco, and made our way in.
The Fillmore is quite a treat.  Classic photos of various music performers, and posters of shows past adorn the walls throughout the hallways inside.  It is literally a musical museum of sorts.
The main floor was our next objective and we made our real estate about 2 thirds back in the center.
We had missed the opening act, and that was ok by us.  I was surprised we could all see the stage in front of us. About 20 minutes later Robin and the band showed themselves, and off to the races we go!
I tell you by my observations, the whole place was entranced and into the tones dripping from Robin’s guitar.  The band were really tight, the mix very good, and I have only one minor quibble being that I felt that it could have been a wee bit louder.  The volume of tonight’s show was probably a good thing though, because in 2000 I saw him here also, and he was EXTREMLY LOUD, too loud for many people I know.  Once you have hearing damage, it is irreversible.
I loved every song, and was surprised to hear a different intro to THE PAST UNTIED.
Robin could hang up his guitar strap and we would all be bummed out, but it is obvious when you watch him play that he is soooo into his craft, and into playing in front of an audience.  He really still loves what he is doing.
After the show we all received a really cool poster of the show at the door.  I believe that these are produced if the show is sold out. The show has been the topic of discussion many times by all of us.

29    Sat       Santa Cruz    The Catalyst

Another review from Roland Kruz....
After seeing Robin the night before at than Fillmore, I was headed down to beachside town of Santa Cruz tonight to get another earful.
For those of you who have not been to Santa Cruz, it is quite an interesting place with a thriving downtown and nightlife.  it is a university town with UC Santa Cruz, liberal politics, all kind of hippies about, sorta like Berkeley, but the hippies are different than in Berkeley, more beach type.
I went with an older friend of mine, who is is more of a mellow jazz fan, who is aware of Trower though.
The show was another sellout and we made our way in and went upstairs to the right side of the stage diagonal to where Robin would be standing. We stood through the opening band , I do not recall their name. They said they had opened for Robin 9 years ago there. Power trio, with a Strat playing Hendrix styled player who reminded me of Uli Roth when he played and sang.
After a pretty good set, we watched the roadies set up for Robin.
Shortly Robin and gang climbed the stage and thunderous applause ensued. Robin laid into TRFY and I was in strat heaven.
This venue is roughly maybe half the size of the Fillmore, so it felt more intimate and was LOUDER, with a great mix. I really took notice of the song Hannah tonight.  It sucked me in big time. Great tone, played without flaws with total authority. I felt more connected to the music tonight as opposed to last night due to the fact I was a bit tired after work Friday night when I was at the Fillmore. Therefore tonight's show was a more fulfilling experience. It seemed to be a bit of a better performance.
What is really interesting is how the rhythm section of Dave and Pete don't really stand out but really hold it all together quite well. Pete's drum kit was set up way back, and I hardly noticed him.
Next time I will watch him a bit more.
By the time Daydream was finished, the crowd was still screaming for more. It is one of those songs that could just go on and on, and you hope won't end.
I am looking forward to another dose in Petaluma next month.
