first photos and review thanks to Neil Calandra

My travel mate for starland ballroom was fellow rider Gary Miller. A shorter trip this
time around only about 2 hours.
Arrived at the sound check around 4pm. Had the usual pleasantries with Laurie and Steve. They always make you feel welcome. Nice Venue big stage and big sound.
Sound check was a bit of a treat. Heard about a 1 minute version of Islands tonight.
Would have been nice to have that in the set list. A little Twice Removed on tap after that. And then a little impromptu Jam started when Dave Pete and Robin were checking there gear. That was very cool. Its nice to hear the styles and phrasings that you usually don't hear on the studio tracks. Dave played a  version of the Beatles "blackbird " while finishing up which was very sweet. Had a chance to say hello to Davey after that and then  the band went to dinner.
Although i think Pete did not eat that much because i saw him chewing a drum stick during the set.
Show details: The more shows i attend the more I see a very mixed audience. A lot more teenagers and Ladies. Good to see the little ones are seeing the great ones!  Set list was the  same..  highlight again was Too Rolling Stoned. And tonight's major crowd pleaser was 20th Century blues. RT always goes into  overdrive on that solo. At one point it looked like he was going to rock himself right into the crowd!
Took some different shots tonight from different vantage points. I hope you enjoy the photos.  See you at BB Kings!

Tour shirts for sale

...and another great review thanks to Dave Whitlock

My wife, Marisol, and I saw the show last night (Tuesday June 27th) at the Starland Ballroom is Sayreville, New Jersey.  The doors opened at 7 pm and Robin came on around 9:45.  We arrived around 9 pm and the place was already packed.  I am not sure how many people the place holds, but it must have been close to sold out.  The crowd was as enthusiastic as I can ever remember for a Trower show (and I have been to over 30 of them over the years)- cheering during the guitar solos and after each song.  Usually there is cheering after the old favorites and light applause after the newer tunes - but this time each song got a loud cheer.  It was strange not to hear "Too Rolling Stoned" to open the set, but it was welcome in the middle of the set list.  The highlight for me was hearing "Roads to Freedom" live - as it has always been one of my favorites and reminds me so much of James Dewar.  Robin played great and seemed to feed off the energy from the audience.
Davey sang great and Dave Bronze and Pete Thompson providedflawless rhythm.
At the end of the show I was standing about 10 rows of people back in the audience (there are no seats) and Robin customarily threw his guitar pick into the audience.  It sailed farther than usual and suddenly it was coming straight for me.  It went right through my hands (no I wasn't drunk) and hit me right on the forehead and I quickly gathered it
off the floor.  Kind of ironic that the pick ended up with one of the biggest Trower fans in the place.
The sales of T-Shirts and DVDs seemed to be going well after the show.
Can't wait for the show on Thursday at BB Kings in NYC - which I hear is sold out.  Good thing I got my tickets a month ago at the Yellowman show.         - Dave Whitlock
