This sleigh bed is my interpretation of a classic form. I made it with solid maple. It has a presence that cannot be conveyed by any photo. I think sleigh beds look their best when they are king-sized, roughly 80" wide or 234cm.
This bedside table, with its ovoid shape, and non-concentric ovoid drawers and drawer pulls is inspired by shapes in First Nations art. The design was suggested by a friend. It goes particularly well with the sleigh bed, because the side curve of the table reflects the curves on the bed.
