Here is the my undead horde all ready for battle. I have played quite a few games with this army and they are tricky to use. I am still working on perfecting my basic strategies for this army and have given a few ideas below. If anyone would like to add anything here please let me know. In the mean time have fun. |

own a High Elf army and an Empire army, the army I play the most is the Undead (probably because most of the other people I play have High Elf armies). A) One of the first things you have to realize is that the Undead are quite unique compared to all the other armies and you have to exploit these qualities to the limit. First is the no confusion rule: this is the most important aspect of the Undead and to get those winning results you must utilize it as much as you can. One way is always to keep one unit behind another, so that if the front unit has to fall back from shooting the rear unit either makes way or not and both units ignore confusion. B)Magic is the next most important element and probably the one thing that can swing a win in your favor. Raise the undead is the best of all the spells and the one I try to get off every time my units are in combat. Doom and despair is the second most important spell because at all costs you must stop the enemy from charging you because you just don't have the attack value on most of your troops unless you are the charger.
C) Large brigades and all the liche priests you can take, because not being able to use initiative and a mere 20cm command radius is what gets most Undead armies in trouble. Carefully place your Liche priests so they can issue commands to as many units as possible. Always pre measure your distances because you will quickly find your units out of range of your priests. And don't forget that when ordering brigades you must measure to the furthest unit in the brigade. D) Magic items. The Helm of Dominion should always be considered as should the Magic Ring and a Dispell Scroll. Other then that the usual swords and banners for your calvary, chariots and some of the infantry which you are planning to use in hand to hand combat. E) Some of the most important units in the army are #1, Chariots. The hardest hitting and fast. #2, Skull Chukkas. No save and confusion on 4+ can't be over looked. #3, Carrion to take out enemy war machines or to just hold up a unit that is a great threat to your battle line. #4, Bone Throwers, for sure and more bowmen than spearmen because for the extra 5 points to be able to shoot and the same attacks makes them much more efficient. So I hope some of these bits of advise may help you in commanding your Undead horde to victory on the battlefield. If you have any suggestions for me please feel free to contact me. ![]() |
