Jack was a kind and gentle man who loved nature, especially bird watching, gardening both vegetable and flower. He was a great conversationalist who liked to play a good game of cards and always welcomed visitors to his home. He cherished the community of Sandy Cove and fulfilled his dream of lifelong residency. He is survived by daughters, Linda MOREHOUSE, Lower Sackville; Sharon (Joe) BICKNELL, Digby; Heather (Larry) HARTLIN, Avonport; grandchildren, Kevin, Cheryl, Steve, Heather, Laura, Jackie; great- grandson, Adam; sister, Nora SAUNDERS-STEVENS, Halifax. SACO - Florence King Worcester, RN, 95, formerly of Middle Street, died Thursday evening, May 27, 2004 at Evergreen Manor in Saco after a brief illness. She was born April 3, 1909 in Rossway, Digby County, Nova Scotia, a daughter of William and Edith Marshal Cossaboom and was educated there.

Coming to Maine in 1928, she attended and graduated from the Webber Hospital School of Nursing in 1931, receiving her R.N. degree. While working at Webber Hospital, she met and cared for Biddeford Fire fighter Arthur King, a burn victim. She changed her plans to return to Nova Scotia and on Aug. 5, 1933 they were married.

Mrs. Worcester worked as a registered nurse for the Biddeford Public Health Department and at the Webber Hospital, retiring from nursing in 1974 after 43 years of service.

She was an active member of the Webber Hospital Nurses' Alumnae.

Mrs. Worcester was predeceased by then Biddeford Fire Chief, Arthur King in 1969. She married Winfield Worcester in June of 1980; Mr. Worcester predeceased her in 1996. She was also predeceased by a daughter Sheryl King Letarte in 1965.

Surviving are two daughters Edith King Jacobson and her husband Roman of Turner, Ore., Lorraine King Mitchell and her husband Robert of Saco; a stepdaughter Barbara Worcester Look and her husband Jon of East Dennis, Mass.; and several grand, great - grand and great - great - grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, at Hope Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Biddeford.
