Born February 12, 1912, in Centreville, Digby Co., she was the daughter of the late Embree and Ada (Cossaboom) Morehouse. Her positive attitude and faith were an example to all. She was happily married to her beloved husband, Elwyn Morton, until he passed away in 1963. She was a former member of the United Church of Canada and an affiliated member of the Centreville Baptist Church, the Women's Missionary Society, Centreville, and a member of the Digby Neck Friendly Hearts New Horizons Club. For several winters, she was affiliated with the First Church, Congregational Sewing Circle, Swampscott, Mass. She was an avid sewer, knitter and craft lady. Her motto for life was, "For I have learned in whatever state I am, there with to be content (Phil. 4:11). Yola was the cherished mother of Gladys (Curtis) Nesbitt, and her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Randy (Cindy), Kimball (Krista) and Rebecca (Chris), and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kris and Koty Nesbitt. She lived with the Nesbitt family from 1964 until her passing. She was also the dearest mother of Virginia (George) Burwood, Winnipeg, and grandmother to Leslie (Brian) Ormel, their children Jackie, Stacey and Shannon; Chris (Lorna) Burwood, their children Rebecca, Elaine, Martin and Jillian; Lisa (Gilles) Chabot, their children, Leah and Lauren. She is lovingly remembered by son, Daniel (Shirley) Morton, Centreville, and their children Bruce, Timothy (Angela) and Charlene Morton; her youngest son, Brian (Kathy) Morton and their daughter Ashley, Timmins, Ont. Yola is also survived by brother, Gerald (Melba) Morehouse, Forest, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Elwyn, she was predeceased by four brothers and seven sisters. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. in Jayne's Funeral Home, 7 Birch St., Digby, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Pastor Lester Simpson officiating. Interment in Union Burial Ground, Lake Midway.

OSSINGER SUCCUMBS ON ROBIN GREY Seattle Man Served with Skinner & Eddy Corporation During War Period Thomas F. Ossinger, who was guarantee engineer of the Skinner & Eddy Corporation during the great war period of ship construction, died last night at 6 o'clock on the steamship Robin Grey, 150 miles off Cape Hatteras, on a voyage from Rio de Janerio to Baltimore. He had been chief engineer of the Robin Grey since she went into commission in Seattle at the beginning of 1920, the vessel having been built by the Skinner & Eddy Corporation for its own account. Later, with three sister ships, she was sold to the Isthmian Steamship Lines. Mr. Ossinger continued with the ship under the Isthmian ownership. He was 39 years old. Mr. Ossinger leaves a widow and four children living in the family home at 4418 W. Massachusetts St. News of the death was sent by Captain Howard, now master of the Robin Grey, to Capt. N.K. Wills of Seattle, former commander of the vessel. It was transmitted by wireless to New York and thence telegraphed to Seattle. Captain Wills receiving the message at 9:30 o'clock last night. Captain Wills gave up the Robin Grey command last spring. The vessel is due in Baltimore tomorrow. Mr. Ossinger's body will be sent home for burial. On a leave of absence from the ship, Mr. Ossinger spent several months in Seattle last summer. Before the war period, Mrs. Ossinger served for years as engineer with the old Pacific Coast Steamship Company and the Admiral Line. When the Skinner & Eddy Corporation began its great career as a shipbuilding company, it engaged Mr. Ossinger as guarantee engineer and he was one of the experts who helped the corporation make its great war records. He supervised the installation of engines and other machinery and had charge of the engine room compartment on trail trips. Mr. Ossinger was a member of the Elks, the Masons and the Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association No. 38 of Seattle. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer Thursday, Oct. 27, 1921 Ossinger Funeral Conducted by Elks Funeral Services for the late T.S. Ossinger, formerly chief engineer of the steamship Robin Grey, who died aboard that vessel in Atlantic waters Oct. 16, were held under the auspices of Seattle Lodge No. 92, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, at the Bonney-Watson mortuary yesterday. Dr. Carl Hoffman, exalted ruler of Seattle Lodge and the chair officers of that organization, staged the Elk's requiem and Rev. W.A. Major, chaplain of the lodge, preached the obituary sermon. The deceased is survived by his widow and four young children. He was one of the best known marine engineers in the Northwest.
