Tromp Coat of Arms - Friesland

"Tromp" Coat of Arms

Rietstap's Armorial General lists two different Tromps, one an English baronet (1674-75) living in Delft, and the other Tromp from Friesland, Netherlands.

The Friesian Tromps bore a shield split vertically down the middle, the left side being gold with a black demi-eagle, the right side being blue with three gold leafless acorns, stems to base.

Our Tromp Family

So far to date we have our Tromp family originating from the province of Groningen, in the Netherlands; namely Feerwerd.

In addition to residing in Feerwerd, our "Tromp Family" travelled around to Aduard, Warffum, Baflo, Den Andel, and Onderdendam, all in the province of Groningen. In 1954 our direct line of "Tromps" immigrated to Duncan, British Columbia, Canada.
