The Fraser River

The Fraser River is an integral part of the "Port Metro Vancouver" on Canada's west coast and has become a major shipping route to the far east and beyond. For over a century Fraser River Pilots have been guiding large ships through the narrow, torrent waters of the Fraser River. Constant infilling of silt means the depth and contour of the river rarely stays the same for very long.

Fraser River Pilots bring "Local Knowledge" and expert ship handling ability on board every ship that moves in the river, ensuring a safe and efficient transit. As maritime pilots we act independent of commercial pressures, ensuring the interests of the public are  maintained.
