I think we should keep Rivers' replies on the DL
I got a mail from Rivers as well, but I was thinking...maybe we should shut up about this, if the dot com kids catch wind of this they will flood the shit out of karls box with stupid crap in the hopes that rivers will reply to them.
I don't mean to sound like we're elite and they shouldn't be talking to him, but if it so happens that karl is getting so much junk that rivers stops replying to real questions and concerns about the band, that would suck. Then again, I'm guessing that Karl filters out the crap and saves decent letter for him to read. I still think it would be wise not to post this all over the dot com board though.

he has no control over what you do with the information and he should know that
did he say not to share it?
if it was really sensitive why is he emailing a random fan he has never met?

I think what he's saying, DJ, is that if the dotcom kids start flooding Karl's box, Rivers will eventually just say "screw it, my fans have no valid opinions" and ignore all subsequent Emails.
Maybe yours too.

Nah - Rivers and Karl are encouraging people to write in with their comments. I think this forum is a great place for sharing them with eachother.
Besides, Im pretty sure Karl is getting the emails and only showing Rivers the ones he deems intelligent. I say strike while the iron's hot and tell him what you want to say. But be smart about it.

yeah, my concern wasn't about sharing the mails here, and if you want i'll post mine, it was just a very short reply but answered my question, and was signed "sincerly, Rivers Cuomo"
My concern was about the teeny boppers over at dot com who will attempt invite rivers to their birthday parties and school dances. Just not to go post stuff over there (ala rezeerweerez..no hard feelings but that was a bad move, good thing they are too stupid to reply to anything cept "rivers is hot")
But again, yeah I'm sure Karl filters the crap out pretty well.

its a good song cuz we love weezer but if you look at it from purely an objective point of view... well... go listen to blue and tell me its anywhere near the best rivers can do.
same goes for chess/kitchen tapes.

hey, shut up queero, you can't make fun of my letter. whenever i send mail to someone like karl or pat it always comes off as being gay. so i already deemed it gay, may as well not make fun of it.
yeah i agree that chess/purification are as good as they are because we like weezer so much. may as well shoot for the better 8-track version though. I think purification of water would be pretty amazing if it was studio recorded.

Interesting point you made about the recording process. However, since Rivers is writing 10 songs a day I WOULD rather that they all be released like what is happening now than to have to wait 5 years for only 10 of these bullshitted songs.
Is it any coincidence that Hash Pipe, a summer2k song, was the big hit that sold people on a mediocre album? I certainly didn't see green climbing the charts after IITS or photograph...
