Frequently asked questions:

Q-      How does it work?

R-       The “DHA” oxidizes and reacts on the dead skin cells, causing the melanin in your skin to turn a natural tan color.  The live cells located underneath the layer of dead skin cells has a barrier that is not and cannot be penetrated by the “DHA”.

Q-     Is it safe?

R-      Yes, the main active ingredient “DHA” is a 3-carbon sugar.  It is generally found in all self-tanning solutions and has been used safely by the cosmetic industry for over 30 years.

Q-      How long does it last?

R-       Anywhere between 5 to 21 days.  Exfoliating will speed up the loss of color, but simple soap and water will not wash it away.

Q-      Should I use after-care products?

R-       Yes, the after care moisturizing lotions contain a small amount of “DHA”, or any moisturizer will help. Regular applications (1 to 3 times a day) will keep your skin silky and smooth and will extend the deepness and duration of your tan.

Q-      What if I get tanning solution on my clothing?

R-       The spray-tanning product is water-soluble.  Any residue on the inside of your clothing will wash out, although we recommend not to wear light colored clothing for the first few days.

Q-      When can I shower/wash?

R-       Always wait 3 to 5 hours to allow the product to bring out your natural tan.  Avoid soaking in a tub for long periods of time.  When drying after showers, pat yourself dry. From here on exfoliating is not recommended.

Q-      What would happen if I went swimming?

R-       Chlorine has a slight bleaching effect on all skin types, whether you are naturally tanned or have used self-tanning products, so you will loose some of the tan.

Q-      How often can I “Spray-Tan”?

R-       Once a week- up to 10 weeks, then you need to take a 21-day break to allow your skin to fluff off all dead skin.

Q-     Will the tan look natural?

R-      Yes, we have many different levels of solution and none of which have an orange undertone.  You can get a very natural glow to a very dark deep tan, keep in mind that if you don’t layer the tans, and you go dark in one step, you will end up with a tan that wears off unevenly.   You will be darker no matter how light or dark complexion you are now, even with the lightest solution we have.
