Presenter: HAROLD FINKLEMAN GUI Design, GUI Psychology, Web Design, Internet Design, Design Psychology |
Research journalist, consultant and lecturer Harold Finkleman has conducted workshops and seminars on Communication Psychology, Design Psychology, Social Strategies and Psychodynamics -- the science of human response -- at universities from Italy to Indonesia and at conferences throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Emerging discoveries in psychodynamics help identify design and communication opportunities to initiate mental or physical change -- stimulate healing, enhance memory retention and affect performance in other ways including increasing alertness or reducing stress. These breakthroughs affect fields from architecture, advertising and fashion to computer GUI design, social strategies, human resources and more.
By invitation he has presented his research as 4-hour Professional Continuing Education Workshops for International Council of Psychologists annual conferences in Boston, USA, Padua, Italy, Winchester, England, Toronto, Canada, and Kos, Greece; for the Symposium on Psychological Practices in Jakarta, Indonesia; and the Advances in Criminology Workshop Series in Baguio, Philippines. He has presented his work as a guest lecturer at UPM -- University Putra, Malaysia -- and outside the stricter academic realms as four-hour seminars and half-day tutorials for the Society for Applied Learning Technologies conference in Orlando, FL, for the Washington Interactive Technologies Conference in Arlington, VA, and for the Humanities and Technology Association conference in Salt Lake City, UT.
His computer design workshop text: NUMBing us down and DUMBing us down.
Finkleman is a member of the Board of Governors for the International Council of Integrative Medicine and co-director of the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences, in Banff, Alberta, which houses an academically significant medical, technological and sociological research library with texts dating back to the 1500s. In addition to his research and lecturing, he has been a daily newspaper editor, an international economics correspondent, prime-time television producer, author of five texts on subjects ranging from international energy economics to psychology. In addition to research and lecturing, Harold continues to provide services as a freelance creative director, media strategist, global marketing strategist and business consultant.
