Classic Space Model: Mobile Explorer

Custom model created November 2000 by John Koob
This model is a combination of the themes of various Classic Space
era models between 1983 and 1986. The idea is to create a slightly
more realistic version of the 6952 Solar Power Transporter from 1985.
Following the basic theme of the 6952, the front half detaches and
can be converted into a light craft. The all-terrain Mobile Explorer
borrows ideas from the 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport for the wheel sets.
Several copies of the 6940 Alien Moon Stalker were used to
provide the windows with the trans-dark green and black panes.
Unlike many models of the era, a vehicle bay includes not one, but
two small rovers with period tires.

landing gear.
