This little wall hanging started as a way to practise a new piecing technique and evolved into a tribute quilt in honour of the tenth anniversary of my son Dan's bar mitzvah. The Hebrew words mean "in the beginning God created . . . ." which are the first words of his Torah portion.
"Summer Retreat" This is my first venture into the world of appliqued and machine-quilted landscape quilts. It is based on a sketch that I made many years ago. Just looks like a lovely place to "get away from it all". It's 19 1/2" x 25" in size - a really nice size to work with.
I made this wall-hanging for my music-loving son who designed this website. It is copied from the design "Groovy Guitars", by Robbie Joy Eklow.
