Renée Van Uytven is a landscape artist who resides on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in East Sooke, British Colombia, Canada.

Born in Antwerp, Belgium she received a degree in Physiotherapy. After marriage she followed her husband engineer on many overseas projects mainly in Africa. It was overseas that she developed her love for painting and received instruction from expatriate teachers. Back in Canada in 1987 she enrolled in Concordia University and got a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Honours). This was followed by more extensive stays in Africa where she painted local scenery and received a number of commissions. She finally settled with her husband on the West Coast of Vancouver Island where this flemish artist mainly paints landscapes and seascapes of the West coast and her native Flanders.
