The 2002 Rendezvous
was one of
our most successful to date.
We were blessed with terrific weather, great crowds and enthusiastic
participants.
The event got underway Saturday morning with
a parade followed
by a color guard &
flag raising
courtesy of the VFW.
One of the highlights of the Pomme de
Terre Rendezvous is the Primitive Encampment. Participants relive the fur
trade era of 1750-1840 by dressing in period costumes, and using as nearly
authentic tools, utensils and camping gear as possible. Black Powder and
Musket Shooting events are held in conjunction with the encampment.
The Pomme de Terre
Rendezvous is a family event, and offers something for everyone. The
Encampment itself is a unique historical learning experience. But we also
offer an impressive Arts & Crafts Fair where artisans showcase and sell
their talents in folk art. Here also
you'll find vendors offering
antiques and
collectables.
