     SCHEDULE

Rendezvous Hours

Saturday, May 1, 2003 - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Sunday, May 2, 2003 - 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

The 2004 Rendezvous will be once again honored to host the
French Colonial Artillery

In the late 1750’s, there was a bitter struggle for control of North America. The British and their colonies were trying to force the peace-loving French out of New France. The American Colonists continually invaded Colonial France; and the French were forced to fight a war when fired upon by the colonists.

The French and Indian War was fought by the French with their Indian allies and the British with theirs. The good-hearted French were doomed from the start. They were vastly out numbered by the enemy and  they lacked materials.

The French Colonial Artillery was comprised of the elite troops. They served as grenadiers, bombardiers, and cannoneers. A detachment of these troops was assigned to train new Artillery crews. They traveled to each Fort to achieve this goal. Soon, they will be in your area
