Trellis Construction ![]()
A variety of
woods can be used to construct your trellis. Willow, saskatoon, poplar, birch,
alder, cranberry or ash can be used. Some are longer lasting than others. The
main requirement is to use green, flexible limbs for the arched parts. Wood

materials. When cutting, cut the twigs with care using only sharp cutting
tools. Never rip or tear the branches, as this can destroy the plant. You
should harvest only as much wood as needed to construct your trellis. It's also
advisable to examine the wood for insects or larvae.
