Here's my second pattern ship that I built. A Henry Piorun Olympian Medal which I flew in Advanced to Masters. In terms of today's airframes it was fast. Currently owned by Andrew Beranek of Maple Ridge, BC.
This is my ZN Line Enigma that I started flying FAI with in 2006. My 3rd pattern ship build and my first made from a composite glass lay up. Powered by a 140 YS DZ it did me well as I flew it to 4th place at the 2006 Canadian F3A Team Trials. Currently owned by Amar Shan of Vancouver, BC.
ZN Line Twister #1. A week after flying at the 2007 U.S. Nationals in Muncie Indiana, I flew the darn thing into tall fir tree. Yup…..a real dumb thumb for sure. Currently….R.I.P.
ZN Line Twister #2. I built this airframe in 21 days between contests right after I toasted #1. This currently is my prime pattern ship which I flew at the 2008 U.S. Nationals and at the 2008 Canadian F3A Team Trials
After a couple of seasons flying both Twister 1 & 2 as well as going through that fir tree, it was time for an overhaul. My totally refurbished Plettenberg Xtra 30-10 EVO just arrived back from Germany where the Plettenberg techs replaced the bearings, mounting ring and rewired the motor.
Good as new and ready for another several hundred flights. Under $200 Canadian including shipping and labor to and from Germany and well worth it.
