My name is Peter Friedman. Before I recently
left Apple, I was the head of Apple's
online/Internet services unit, including
eWorld.
I and some collegues are starting a new
Internet content company with a focus on high
quality original programming and
community.
We've read the message you posted on eWorld.
(We've read them all, every single one) In response
to that message and the eCommunity's grassroots
enthusiasm for quality services, we are doing
something about it. With the help of many people in
eWorld, several friendly companys such as
Concentric and Quarterdeck and with the support of
some of the folks at Apple,
- we are creating some new quality community
services on the Internet, immediately.
The first is Talk City.
It opens in "Pre-release state, with over
100 conferences/week, managed by the former eWorld
CCC crew, this Monday, 4/1/96. Additional services
such as Youth Tech, Religions and Spiritulalities,
Girls Online and more to come will follow.
We have built this in response to your
message and those from hundreds of others.
We've built it. - Now to make it a success,
we're asking you to come to it.
Be a part of this this grassroots effort and
contribute to the effort to bring the kind of
quality and community we enjoyed in eWorld to the
Internet.
