An Article Collection.

“Write about what you know”, is always the hairy old advice offered to writers starting out on their path to fame and (although not in many cases) fortune.  “We all have to pay our dues”, is another well worn cliche used by those in the know.  What nobody mentions is that while all this is going on, there is little or no monetary compensation for your efforts.  Hence I have titled my blog site “The Starving Writer.” which can be logged on to at:

http://raymondo.wordpress.com

There you will fine my periodic blog articles and things that I generally want to get off my chest.  Plus an article or two for practice.

For a couple of years I contributed articles about food, cooking, and restaurants to the local newspaper, and along with the other contributing columnists I did it purely to hone up on my writing skills, such as they were, and to get something published to add to my resume.

Eventually I had written enough articles to put together a small book, which I self published in order to develop some layout and publishing skills for a small company that I formed called Raybern Publishing.  I still use Adobe PageMaker to this day, for creating my small cookbook collection.

Some of the article subjects, particularly the restaurants fell by the wayside as restaurants are wont to do, but even though they no longer exists, they made a great story at the time.  In any event, they still remain an integral part of my portfolio along with the original clippings.

I hope that you will enjoy reading these articles, which I change every so often on the web site.  So do bookmark me and check back again for others as they get published on the site.

One of the fallacies about writing this type of article, is that they are bought and paid for advertorials. This is not so, but as a professional writer, I would be more than happy to write an advertorial should I be asked by a prospective client.

Do enjoy the articles and the rest of the web site.  I am available for paid writing work and can be reached at:
