  Trained in London England, Ray Claxton worked in the Netherlands and Britain as a chef before emigrating to Canada in 1972.  His culinary career includes several major hotels such as the Hotel Bessborough in Saskatoon, Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta, and Minaki Lodge in Ontario.  He has also appeared on several TV and radio programs  in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia.

  Currently living on Vancouver Island, where he was pastry chef at Tigh-Na-Mara Resort for many years, he has retired from the kitchen and is currently following a second career as a freelance writer.
