Ebony Daedric Dwemer Her Hand Imperial Iron Steel Templar

The heavy armors are numerous and relatively good. But they are really heavy and wearing them will slow you down significantly.

Ebony Armor

Ebony armor is fairly rare. Despite that it is easy as hell to get. I mean it:
1) Just play the main quest - *spoiler* and you will have to kill Mister Venym, head of the Redorans in Morrowind. He has a full ebony set on him. And a Daedric Dai-Katana too! What a nice guy, eh? *endspoiler*
Make sure you don't kill him off-hand because he is needed for the main quest.
You will probably have to kill him as a redoran too, to become a redoran boss. I dunno cuz I've been only Hlaalu and Telvanni.
2) There is a guy in the fighter's training, in Arena, Vivec, that has a full ebony set. You know what to do, soldier!
3) In the expansion, Tribunal , you will find a notorious Wood Elf... He is probably the most powerful enemy in the game. He's in the Temple area. If you manage to slaughter him.... Well, guess what's he wearing.

Prior to BloodMoon Ebony was the second best armor. Now it is pretty much as good as the new Ice Armor.

Daedric Armor

Ah, the real thing. Though I never wear it the daedric armor is, no doubt about it, the most prized possession in Morrowind. It's very hard to find if we disregard killing Fyr. In fact it is impossible to get a whole set without killing Fyr. You can't get the right pauldron. Apparentyl it is now included in Bloodmoon but it is impossible to get by conventional means ;-). The horror!
To get it you can either
-Kill Tel Fyr in his tower southwest of Sadrith Mora (don't do it before the main quest though for obvious reasons) or
- Click here ;-) to get to the Daedric Library, the most full and comprehensive archive of Daedric Artifacts known to mankind.
The Daedric Armor is The Best.

Dwemer Armor

The armor of the dwarves simply looks hilarious ;-). The hero dressed in it reminds me of a yellow angry robot. It's a pretty good armor, fairly expensive and it's really heavy.
The Dwemer Armor is thrown around the Dwemer Dungeons and Fortresses on Vvardenfell.

If you scout carefully both Mudan and Odrosal you should manage to get a full set.

Elder Scrolls Site says: The secrets of Dwemer armorcraft are long-forgotten. All examples encountered are thousands of years old, salvaged from ancient Dwemer ruins. Dwemer armor is heavy and cumbersome, but Dwemer craftsmanship and metallurgy are unmatched in any modern metal armor style. Enthusiasts pay fabulous prices for individual pieces, and the few complete sets are in the hands of collectors.

Her Hand Armor (Tribunal Only)

This is basically an improved Indoril Armor except it's not medium. It is very good, maybe as good as the glass or the ebony sets.
Two ways to get it:
1)Kill a High Ordinator in Mournhold. Simple as that.
2)The set from the screenshot is an enchanted bersion of Her Hands Armor. It's on the personal guards of Amalexia. Believe me they are hard to kill.
*Spoiler* - You could just play along the main quest of Tribunal. At one point you will be ordered to kill one of Amalexia's guards. If you manage to do that (it's a really tough fight) you will get to loot the guy and steal his armor. *Endspoiler*

Imperial Armor

Nothing really special. Just the armor guards in imperial cities around the island have.

Elder Scrolls Site says: Imperial Guard armor is a more expensive and decorative version of the common Legion veteran's heavy infantry armor. Chain is worn over leather padding, with steel greaves, pauldron, cuirass, and helm.

Iron Armor

Again, a pretty generic set available throughout the island.

Elder Scrolls Site says: Western-style iron plate provides good protection, but is so heavy and uncomfortable that despite its modest cost and wide availability in Imperialized Morrowind, adventurers and mercenaries quickly upgrade to better-quality metal armors or adopt the lighter native laminated shell armors when they can afford them.

Steel Armor

This armor looks really cool ;-). The hero is like a knight from a fairy tale. Anyway it's available on brigands and shops, just play and you are bound to come across it.
Note the lack of boots, heh, I guess wearing steel or iron boots can be a challenge and so the designers omited such items ;-).

Apparently there are steel boots in the x-box version. robot tg found a pair near the wolverine hall.
Also thanks to John. In his words: you're probably playing the PC version (I play Morrowind on the Xbox), but I'm pretty sure the PC version would have the same items as the Xbox, including Steel Boots, the Redgaurd on the first floor in the Balmora Fighter's Guild sells a pair, and so does a merchant in Caldera, that's all that I know of, but there's indeed a pair of Steel Boots in the game.. did you purposely leave them out? Ah well...
I think that "Ah well" pretty much sums up my response to this.

Templar Armor

The Templar Armor looks really cool and it actually is fairly good. It is the armor of the impreial cult and highly ranked members of the imperial legion.
You can get it:
1)By working for the legion or the cult. I don't know which because I've never joined either of the fractions.
2)By killing an NPC that has this armor. For example - the captain of fort Frostmoth in Bloodmoon or Angoril in the Pelegiad Fort. My advice is to save the Frostmoth captain because he's necessary for the main quest ;-).

Elder Scrolls Site says: Officers of the Imperial Legion and knights of the various Imperial military orders are privileged to wear this armor. Plate cuirass and greaves and a reinforced steel helm are worn over leather padding and chain. Though heavy and uncomfortable for campaigning, this armor gives excellent protection in melee combats.
