A few Days in
Gangtok
Sikkim
| We decided to go straight to Gangtok from Darjeeling. We thought that we would give the bus a miss and instead booked a share cab (jeep). We were partnered with a lovely young Indian couple, he was a lawyer from Orrisa, his lovely wife was originally from Bihar. |

Minto Kling A superior
place to stay |
|
|
Minto Kling is a lodge in Gangtok. It is managed by the nephew of the owner of the Bellvue hotel in Darjeeling. We found it to be very spacious and clean, the rooms were well placed and the ones that we were staying in opened onto this little garden. |
|
| Part of the welcoming committee at Minto Kling. We saw several of this type of cat around Gangtok, short hair, salt & pepper colouring, sleek. This one has a very sweet personality. |

Kalu Rinpoche at Rumtek monastary |
| This gentleman is an official with the Kagyu lineage who was extremely helpful to us during our visit to Rumtek. Unfortunately we cannot remember his name or his position (rude and inconsiderate of us to be sure). The important part of this picture though is that it was taken by Kalu Rinpoche himself. |
