Alana's Blurb So we’re going on a trip, Lewis and Clark style, but with bikes. I’m not sure whose idea it was exactly, but we figured on biking across the states, and then changed that to Canada and the states. Who knows, maybe if I learn enough Spanish along the way we’ll head south of the boarder a bit at the end. To answer the questions I’ve been getting… Are we ready? No, but I don’t think anyone ever feels ready at the start. Do we have our route really planned yet? No, but that’s half the adventure. Have I bought a gun? No, I wouldn’t know what to do with one and my throwing arm is pretty pathetic. Motivation? I’m still not sure about that one.I guess it’s because I’ve been working for the last year and needed to stretch my legs a bit. Same old story. What could stop us? I don’t know. I have a few bets riding on this one, so baring the loss of a couple of limbs, I’d say next to nothing. Right, that’s all that I can think of to write as a starter, if you’ve got any suggestions drop a line, ac |

Quinn's Blurb So I should say something about this trip eh? Got off school in May and went to Europe. Had a couple of job interviews before the trip but no takers. Gives me some free time which is good but I don't have money which is bad. Come back from Europe thinking it's job hunting season now. Nope, have to plan another activity to have some fun before going into the real world. Bad idea? Of course, because I don't have money. But I grabbed a job as a dry waller for a month thanks to Ed Faucet (Faucet Construction). Great group of guys. They do good work. So I have some stuff to go with and some lunch money so to say. Don't know why I decided to go on it but it sounded like fun and travelling to places I haven't been to always sounds like fun... or usually does (did that with Wisconsin and it wasn't really fun, ask my friends Blake/Brent). Is there anything that worries me on a bike tour of this magnitude? 1. Wild animals perhaps. 2. Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere with no money or food. 3. Crazy people just waiting to hit a guy off his bike as he drives by (or shoot him off his bike). 4. My knees. Yah, I get sore knees when I bike so if this trip ends pre-maturely, it'll probably be for that reason. Living in Winnipeg, the cold weather doesn't seem to get to you till -20C. So as long as the temperature doesn't drop below that by Sept/Oct., we should be fine. But, let's think positive right. I just love it when people say I'm nuts and I'm not going to make it.. that always seems to get me to keep going. Well, enough of this ramble. Go look at another part of the site, or read Alana's.
