Today's featured piece of artwork is a value drawing by Florence.

Value is one of the elements of design. It refers to luminance or luminosity - the lightness or darkness of a colour.  Value is an especially important element in works of art when color is absent. This is particularly likely with drawings, woodcuts, lithographs, and photographs. It is also true with most sculpture and architecture.

Each student was to have light, medium and dark values in their pencil drawing.
