Determining the sex of your Bearded Dragon

It is hard to determine this in juveniles. What you can do though is hold your Dragon belly side up and check to see how the tail tapers. Male Dragon tails, are usually thicker that females. The head of a male Dragon is larger than the body. Female Dragons have a smaller head and thicker body. If you are planning on buying one Dragon, a male would be best. Females will go through "egg binding" if she does not mate. Also, male Dragons will generally live longer than females.
