The last decade has seen a
significant change in the role of the teacher in schools. At one time the major focus was
on the instructional process and behavioural objectives.
Now the focus has shifted to facilitating the learning process. Recent discoveries in
brain research combine with newly available technologies to make a shift in
philosophy from
behaviourism to constructivism. This page provides links which explore these changes.
| "As long as schools
are primarily about teaching rather than learning, there is little need for
expanded information capabilities. " "Change your thoughts and you change your world. " Norman Vincent Peale |

Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives. William
James 1842 – 1910 Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better. King

sites. Please remember that the dynamic nature of the Internet requires each of us to use
caution when presenting web sites to students. |
