The Prince, in his role as Master of Pomp, presides over four seasonal festivals. The February Gala, hosted at the Palace, features five consecutive evenings of dance and song. Islanders and their guests enjoy a glittering spectacle of music and an opportunity to sample international cuisine prepared by the royal kitchen. |

July ushers in the Wind and Sea Festival. Tall ships from around the world assemble at the Inner Harbour. Residents and visitors can race hang gliders, kayaks and yachts, or merely watch and enjoy the excitement.
The role of the First Nations people is celebrated at the September Potlatch . Participants in full native regalia race war canoes, exchange gifts, hold games, feast and commerate the friendship between aboriginal people and settlers.

Charter Day marks the anniversary of independence - April 1st. The event opens with pomp and splendour as the Prince reviews a dress parade of the Royal Security Force. After a 50 gun salute, leading citizens are presented with the Order of Merit, Parliament throws open its doors to visitors and school children and local restaurants host a variety of special meals and events. |
