Telefilm has an equity position:  expectation to recoup in sales

Process:
A production company must get a broadcasting licence from a broadcaster (in this case the CBC) before approaching Telefilm for funding.  Telefilm has an equity position and reviews the finances of the producer and partners.  Telefim promotes itself as “cultural investor in film”.

Can Tel Fund states in its mission:
“nothing equals the power of television as a source of shared experiences, a builder of community and a demystifier of difference”

Production partners, such as CBC, are normally partially responsible for and contribute to creative content.

Kevin DeWalt is Minds Eye Productions and Mouseland Productions. He was on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Television Fund for 2005/06.
