My Jaybird

©2006 Janice

My brain says it isn't so.

My heart feels an emptiness.

Word arrives, it isn't lies.

Wah has begun to fly.

Fly, Jaybird, fly

Way up high and as you pass by

With your wings, earned,

Look down and say "Hi".

My friend, my Jaybird shouts,

"I'll throw down the keys."

Now there is no longer entry

To the abode Wah made feel like home.

I am missing you

As is meant to be.

My Jaybird, my Jaybird,

Fly! Be Free!

Janice XX I LOVE U

My apologies to Janice for 'misplacing' this lovely poem. I just found it yesterday when I put on my winter coat for the first time since Jason's death, and there it was, hiding in my pocket.
