About Me

Pat

I suppose, if you clicked on the "About me" link, you are courious to know just who is behind all this madness!

Well, here I am, hard at work at one of my other hobbies: cycling. I started road racing at age 14. I am now 52 (2010) and haveĀ got more than a few miles on my legs! This picture is of me ascending one of the most famous climbs in Europe, Mont Venteaux in France, in July of 2009.

Another one of my other hobbies is woodworking. I had about as much success in Shop in school as most of the other kids: not much. Some 30 years ago, I wanted a piece of furniture and thought the price was outrageous, so I decided to build it my self; I did an okay job on it. From there, things just built (excuse the pun) up, and I now have a very well-equipped shop and will try just about anything. Most of what I build now is for other people.I offer custom furniture at low cost (heck, it's a hobby, not a business!), and, in turn, I generate funds to put towards my car projects.

My mother was one of the official time keepers for sports car racing teams in England around the Sterling Moss era, and sheloved to go fast in sports cars, so I guess that's where my love of English cars came from. I rebuilt my first car (a 1964 TR4) when I was 20. I had a TR3 and raced a Datsun 510 (trailer, firesuite, slicks... the whole ball of wax) around the same period of time.

Then the same thing happened to me that has happened many others: I got married and the cars slowly disappeared. And, like so many other men, once the kids got a bit older (I started early; they were only 8 or so), I found a TR4A needing a good home, and things have gone from there. I find that 80% of my car work is in the winter when the weather is gross. The cars featured on this site are cars I still own, but other cars I have restored include a TR4, TR4A, TR3 (2), AH Bugeye, Lotus Europa, and... yes.. a '56 Land Rover.

I was born in Victoria, B.C., Canada, lived here all my life, and am quite happy to die here; It truly is a fantastic place to live.

If you would like more details on anything I have done that interests you, please feel free to contact me. The goal of my web site is to share what I have done in the hopes that it will assist you, just as other web sites have helped me.
