I fell in love with his music from the first moment and now I think Steve is one of the most original musicians alive. You have acomplished a great job with your site, it is very complete! Keep the good work!

I just want to thank you for your website, because the pictures inside remind me the concert. Now I'm 46, and music is always in me, specially Steve's. Thanks again for your website, and long life to Steve, his music will survive for centuries.

It's amazing...I mean the music it's really progressive because he has been looking for new ways of expression for the whole time! I really enjoyed visiting the site where I found mp3 files coming from bootlegs I had never listened to! Very good work! The group of Steve's fans is getting bigger and bigger...but he has worked for this!
On January 30, 2000 Alexandre Ribeiro wrote: I've seen the discography page of your "Please Don't Touch Site". Steve contributed to one album you don't list. He plays in the title track of Ritchie's 'Vôo de coração'. Ritchie is English and lives in Brazil working as an English teacher. In the early 80's he recorded this album which reached reasonable success. Steve plays Guitar in the title track and, surprise!, his solo is almost the same he did to "Jane Austen's Door".
On January 28, 2000 Paul Cronin wrote: Please except my sincere congratulations for giving highlight to this exceptional performer. I had the chance to see Genesis in 1977 for the Wind and Wuthering tour and found the sound experience I had been searching for. I can only describe the flowing sound as a sound ribbon exciting my artistic emotions. From that point his use of the volume pedal to bring a struck note to a vaporous tone, the use of the E-bow for infinite sustain and his virtuosity on the 12 string and classical have shown me the grace available within a musical structure. I also has the privilege to meet Steve on his Cured tour and welcomed him to Chicago. A phenomenal experience. Bravo to you for allowing this forum for enthusiasts. At 40 and having played since my early teens I still wish I could find avenue to see him again and express my appreciation of his efforts and talents. And maybe even a session. Thanks.

I've been a big fan of Steve Hackett and classic Genesis for many years. Steve is my favorite musician and my favorite CD of his is Bay of Kings. It's great to know that there's people out there like me who truly appreciate the depth and magnitude of Steve's personal and musical integrity and talent. Thanks again!

I've been an admirer of Mr Hackett's music since about 1975 when I happened upon a copy of "Nursery Cryme". I was awestruck by compositions such as "The Musical Box" and "Fountain of Salmacis", and have been following Steve's career ever since. Recent works "Guitar Noir" and "Darktown" have been very inspiring to me, but earlier albums have always excelled in their originality and creativeness. Unfortunately I've never been able to attend a concert....we don't get many artists out here.(I have seen Jethro Tull a few times however - another band I admire greatly!) I'd be happy to share any views with other Hackolytes in Australia or abroad.......Until then. Regards, Steve Clark.

By the way, back in 1993, I recorded an entire "Steve Hackett" concert in Argentina (most of the songs from "Guitar Noir"). I got them all in mp3 - stereo - not to good quality (awful quality). If anyone is interested I'll be glad to mail them. My mail: jamesr@fibertel.com.ar. Cheers.

The bootleg "Spectral Horizons" was recorded during the 2nd or 'late' show, Friday Oct. 17th, 1980. Also "Slogans" and "Jacuzzi" are EXACTLY as they sounded that night, including low and high voices on intros from Steve. No tape problems. Scott McMahon wasn't there, I was!

Most people in the audience had no idea who or what they were singing but my wife and I knew. I can only guess that no one has done that. I would add that that was 14 years ago. I am still a Hackett fan today and will continue to be one even when he puts down the guitar.

If you have some information about where I could buy Steve's bootlegs, please e-mail me. And about "Cured": I also think it is Steve's weakest album, but it is ten thousand worth buying than any Yes or Genesis album from the same time, for example ("Cradle Of Swans" is a jewel and I like very much to play it). And "Highly Strung" is more elaborated than you think, to my opinion (listen to all the musical themes that come again from track to track (especially "Cell 151"'s themes and "Camino Royale"' s themes: this is a concept-album, from a musical point of view). And last but not least, "Tokyo Tapes", though nostalgic, is a fantastic album, so I hope the future will bring us such strong albums from Steve. Congratulations again, and bye bye !

You asked on the "Cured" page what Cured referred to. My understanding is that he was referring to the fact that he had given up alcohol, which had become a problem for him. I have no source to back this up but that's what I remember hearing a long time ago. This also explains the album cover picture of him with a couple of drinks (irony). My "relationship" to Steve Hackett comes from my long love of Genesis (22 years now...wow!). I have had Spectral Mornings (my only album of his) for ages and am now considering buying Voyage of the Acolyte and Genesis Revisited. I put on SM a few days ago after not playing it for years and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. He really was (and is) a brilliant guitarist.
