December, 2008FOLK’S NEWSLETTER 2008 Once again it’s time for me to sit down and try to figure out what went on the last year. It’s very taxing on this old brain, but will try my best to remember some of the more interesting items. We’ve had a few job changes. I was working at Cotton Ginny till March, then back to Apple Artworks. It closed the end of May, so took the summer off to renovate our kitchen. I painted the cupboards white (took 5 coats). We then replaced the flooring and painted the walls. Started working at Cotton Ginny and Fabricland in November. But I found it too much, so quit at Fabricland. Will see how long CG lasts in these unsure economic times. Peter and I had our yearly trip to his Ostomy convention in Hamilton in August. He was voted in as a director for the national board. We made a quick trip into Toronto to visit Darcy and Neil. We attended a Shaw festival play with Darcy, and Dancap’s production of Avenue Q. Darcy will be celebrating her first year at Dancap Productions this month. We had a return visit in October for Peter’s board meeting. Darcy got us great seats for their next production which was Jersey Boys (the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons story). Darcy started out in their ticket sales office, but has since been promoted to production assistant. She is certainly in her element there and is putting her organizational skills to the test. Neil is currently working at Roy Thompson Hall in their ticket sales office. After being home for a week, Peter and I flew out to Kelowna for a much over do visit with my sister, Joanne, and her guy Rob. Enjoyed the scenic tour of wineries and old steam railway. Stacey decided to finally leave the nest and moved in with her boyfriend, Justin in September. She is in her final days at Custom Labels. She will begin working at Laser Impressions in January as their graphic designer. She will be home for a few days at Christmas as Justin is visiting his parents in Brandon for the holidays. Brad is still working with his Dad. He had a brief holiday in Winnipeg. Otherwise nothing much new with him. He did win a Wii this summer, so has been spending time perfecting his moves. Erin is working part time at the main library downtown. She has just acquired a new boyfriend, so we are gently breaking him in! We wish you all a blessed and merry Christmas, and good health and happiness in the New Year. Love, Erin, Peter, Brad, Neil, Darcy, Donna and Stacey
