CD Notes

Released in November 2004, this was one of box set containing the first four US album releases on Capitol Records. Each of the four discs contains two versions of each LP. One in stereo mix and one in mono. As was tradition at the time, these early Beatle albums were offered in both mixes to suit the needs of consumers. Eventually the move into stereo became a standard for the music industry, but the trend of releasing Beatles' albums in two version continued through to the end of the 1960's.

Album Notes

Although indeed Capitol's second Beatles release in the US, it was the third following Meet The Beatles and VeeJay's Introducing The Beatles. The Beatles' Second Album features more repackaged UK releases fo the US market, as would be the norm until 1967. This release has the most in common with Parlophone's With The Beatles featuring five tracks from that LP.
