Released in November 2004, this was one of box set containing the first four US album releases on Capitol Records. Each of the four discs contains two versions of each LP. One in stereo mix and one in mono. As was tradition at the time, these early Beatle albums were offered in both mixes to suit the needs of consumers. Eventually the move into stereo became a standard for the music industry, but the trend of releasing Beatles' albums in two version continued through to the end of the 1960's.
Album Notes
Marked as "The first album by England's phenomenal pop combo", Meet The Beatles was the first Beatles album released in America by Capitol, even though the band had already released two albums in their native Britain. Combining songs from those two albums, including a
slightly different track list of their second UK album With The Beatles, Meet TheBeatles was released just barely two weeks before their historic first performance
on the Ed Sullivan Show. Two songs are presented in "rechanneled" stereo, as Capitol had only mono mixes from EMI. The cover photo is the same as the UK With The Beatles, but has a blue tint to it.
