Update March 1, 2003 Don't get caught speeding by an under-cover cop car!! You pay enough taxes as it is. In various locations in the Lower Mainland, B.C. License plate numbers will be posted in the future. For now here are pictures of similar vehicles: Aldergrove/Abbotsford:
North Shore: be on the lookout for these three parasite vehicles that patrol the Upper Levels Highway on the North Shore for speeders. They will either be parked on the shoulder of the hwy or parked on entrance ramps, particularly Cypress exit, Bayridge exit checking your speed with radar from the rear. Always slow down while passing entrance ramps and do an entrance ramp shoulder/mirror check. They love to sit on the Cypress Bowl west-bound entrance ramp nailing you going downhill ... which is actually supposed to be against police policy.
This is 2002 Tahoe pictured above. Actual police vehicle is a 1999 or 2000 4dr Tahoe, also white in colour. Heavy window tinting. Strobe lights and red/blue flashers hidden in headlights, taillights and behind rear window tint. I believe it also has lights mounted on sunvisor or dashboard. Pass with caution. Officer usually wears a yellow jacket with shoulder badge easily seen when passing this vehicle.
2000 or 2001 Chevy Impala. Actual police vehicle is a darker shade of green.
These three buffoons have even been seen using Lidar (laser) in morning rush hour traffic just east of Taylor Way in the east-bound lanes. I consider these types of traffic monitoring/fining vehicles parasites on society. Don't fill their coffers! They eat enough donuts as it is. These guys/girls should get a "real job " tm. Remember, be on the lookout... even at 2am! Burnaby & Vancouver vehicles: Be on the lookout for this Chrysler
Minivan that patrols between the Second
Narrows (Iron Workers Memorial Bridge)
and the Port Mann Bridge. This vehicle
is probably stationed at the RCMP
station off the Caribou Exit. As usual it has strobe lights in the signal lenses and flashing red/blue behind the window tint. Your tax dollars at work taxing you. I've also seen a Chevy Venture in dark blue patrol this same stretch of road:
Just spotted (Jan 2002) working Port Mann Bridge to 1st Ave exit on Hwy#1: Dark blue GMC 4x4 S/Cab pickup truck! Same features as the others above. Probably RCMP freeway patrol. Similar photo shown below.
Just spotted (end of Jan 2002) in the vicinity of Knight St. between 12th Avenue and Broadway St., Vancouver. Must be Vancouver Police. Of all vehicles... a full size Ford van! In dark blue colour. Sheesh!
Other Vancouver/Lower Mainland Hotspots for donut carnivores are:
So... when was the last time you saw a radar trap in legitimate safety concern areas such as school zones?? I haven't for some time now... guess there's no revenue in it? Sad state of priorities. Who's protecting the children? I suppose its easier just to set up your radar/laser trap hiding in the bushes on a major hwy with no residential areas, concrete medians, at the bottom of hills, hi-risk areas for non-existent pedestrians...... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Keep your eyes peeled! Do yourself a favour and buy a decent radar/laser detector. Remember when you get nailed by laser & your detector goes off it's already too late. To avoid detection of lidar (laser) buy yourself one of these: www.blinder.dk/uk/index.htm The only 100% effective jammer of police laser - in fact any currently used laser speed measurement device used by law enforcement in the world. :-) See my driving impression of the Autobahn and driving in Germany in general here. For more information on why most roadways and highways in Canada have artificially, dangerously low speed limits visit the website: http://www.sense.bc.ca/ Are police enforcing safety or extorting your money. Find out what is really happening. Read the research: http://www.sense.bc.ca/research.htm Most of the information is shown applying to the now defunct photo-radar. However it can be applied to traffic enforcement scenarios in-general. If you see a location where the cops are lurking all the time, let me know. If you don't like the contents of this webpage, browse somewhere else. I'am in no way advocating speeding or breaking the law. |
