Who is Peter Ferlow?

For anyone that I went to school with I attended public school at Nelles Elementary in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada from about 1979 to 1983. Then Grimsby Secondary School from grade 9 to grade 11 (1986) at which time I moved to the city of Mission, British Columbia. I finished grade 12 at Abbotsford Senior Secondary and graduated in 1987.

Starting 1987 I went straight to technical college taking electronics technology (intensive 3yr into 2yr) program from 1987 till 1989 at Kwantlen University College, Newton (Surrey), BC.

Some of the people I knew in grade school were:

Brad Boustead, Derek Mathews, Anne Sobota & her friend Kim (last name forgotten sorry), David Wind, and a bunch of other people I can't remember right now. Damn brain!

In high school I remember:

Chris Godak, Erik Quist, Brad Boustead, Carl Evink, and a few other troublemakers. Shop classes and the ski club were great. I remember our young english teacher was boinking a girl in my grade 11 class who was getting A+ grades (no wonder).  I can't remember his name now, was going bald and drove a Honda CRX at the time (can't get away with that these days). Our Science teacher was the best.

Grade 12 adds on:

Richard Friesen, Bennet Callinisan, Shane Bennee, Baldev, Jeff, and a bunch of others my brain fails me. Mr. Hooge in science class was the best. Electronics class sucked compared to Ontario courses, really basic and I got A's.

Kwantlen college adds on:

Richard Friesen again, David Bedows, his friend Peter, Bill and a bunch of other great people who's faces I know but can't place names to....doh. Daryl was the best instructor. We called him "Lurch" because he had big googly eyes and was 6ft6 or something up there. Great guy. Overall college kind of sucked because I died in last trimester calculus and 1/4 of the instructors couldn't speak proper english. The "lab rats" Susan and Dan were fun too. Electronics is now a hobby of mine among other things.

I still keep in touch with Richard, Chris, Erik and had an email recently for the first time from Brad.

Some of my hobbies are (but not limited to):

  • mechanical repairs, upgrades, modifications (automotive, marine, motorcycle)
  • computers/electronics building/running/maintaining/troubleshooting
  • extreme car audio traditional style (no fiberglass construction...yet)
  • hardcore downhill mountain biking (famous Northshore black diamond trails)
  • some hiking (prefer the biking)
  • once a year motocross logging road riding (old KDX-250)
  • used to do a lot of 4x4ing offroad but not for a few years now.
  • getting into street motorcycles lately, got my learner's license.
  • saltwater fishing in our powerboat using downriggers generally for salmon
  • other water sports - I enjoy kneeboarding over waterskiing.
  • downhill skiing on snow - Northshore mountains and Whistler or Mt. Baker (US).
  • open water scuba diving with all equipment incl. dive computer, have PADI certificate with deep water training ( >100ft)

And I've been happily married since 1993. Lived in West Vancouver since 1993 and finally bought a house here Oct. of 2000. Great place to live! Everything is close by - Vancouver downtown, mountains, the ocean, rivers, lakes, Whistler, etc.
