So I just found a really old 6/12 V battery charger in the
garage: "The
Silver Beauty"
I plugged it into a 118 Vac wall outlet and got the following
readings on my
digital multimeter
in 12V mode
DC 11.9V
AC 5.58V
in 6V mode
DC 7.13V
AC 3.29V
it doesn't look like there is a capacitor in there. Can someone
explain to
me why there are both AC and DC readings?
Is the output signal even rectified?
Thanks,
Peter
